This is outside of the scope of Internet marketing, but I could not resist the urge to write about this great leader – Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as Mahatma (sacred spirit) Gandhi, on his birthday today (2nd October).

Like most people living today, I was born in a different generation, but whatever I have learnt and read about him, has a big impact on my psyche and thought process. I respect M.K. Gandhi for his simplicity, his courage to overcome stiff resistance with non-violence, and showing us how half of the mankind lives by renouncing luxuries and living like a naked fakir (sage). It requires courage and purpose to do something similar, and there are not many examples in the modern world today.

He showed the world that the nations can be liberated by non-violent struggle; that great respect and sainthood could still be achieved by leading a life of truth and compassion; that violent mob could be controlled with love, respect and fasting; that poor people lead the biggest changes in world history; that humans must rise above religion, color or nationalities; something the world is missing in its march towards progress, where hunger, violence, and hate still effects billions of lives.

I bow to Mahatma Gandhi with the greatest respect on his birthday today.
